Trident Maritime Systems - Heavy Equipment Group in Kingsford, MI is seeking a Project Engineer to design, develop and provide technical management for assigned engineering projects on-site at Kingsford.

Role involves interpreting customer specifications, coordinating design engineers, preparing drawings and calculations, and participating in design reviews. Travel between sites may be required; a relevant engineering degree and 5+ years of design experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S.M.E. or B.S.E.E. or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years mechanical, electrical or hydraulic design of powered equipment.
• Willingness to travel between plant locations and to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and ensure compliance with customer purchase specifications.
• Serve as technical point of contact for projects when leading engineering activities.
• Develop design concepts and product specifications within budget goals.
• Coordinate efforts of design engineers; lead when assigned.
• Prepare layout and detail drawings; perform calculations.
