Job summary

Shrewsberry & Associates LLC in Denver is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2–5 years of site civil and land development experience to join our team. You will work on commercial, residential, mixed-use, and infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, prepares construction documents, and coordinates with internal teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in site civil / land development design.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE licensure a plus.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology/ Hydraulic software, WaterCAD, HydroCAD, Excel.
  • Working knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater design.
  • Familiarity with local jurisdictional standards and permitting processes (Colorado Front Range experience a plus).
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare site civil design for land development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway improvements.
  • Develop construction documents, technical exhibits, and design calculations.
  • Assist with hydrology and hydraulic analyses, stormwater reports, and permitting submittals; coordinate with internal disciplines and project managers.
  • Support entitlement and permitting efforts with local jurisdictions and reviewing agencies.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.
  • Participate in project meetings and respond to agency review comments.
  • Apply applicable local, state, and federal codes and design standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements
Education and/or Experience

This is a full-time position with a base salary that ranges between $85,000 - $100,000 per year. In addition to salary, you are eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and PTO.
