Job summary

The Christman Company seeks an Assistant Project Engineer Intern to support construction teams in Memphis. You will work on RFI handling, document control, submittals, cost tracking, and schedule updates under supervision of project professionals.

Responsibilities include aiding with meetings, inspections, and coordination with inspectors, while maintaining safety compliance and report generation. Students gain hands-on exposure to commercial construction processes on active projects.

Qualifications

• Active, full-time sophomore-senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and technical support to the project team.
• Assists with RFI, document control and management, creation and tracking of submittals, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
• Assist in summarizing discussions, questions and decisions from project meetings.
• Reads specification books to ensure compliance and project quality.
• Assist the Project Manager with inspections, inspection log, and coordination with inspectors.
• Update contract drawings to reflect changes and notify trade contractors.
• Assist Superintendents with daily reports and photo management.
• Model safety awareness and report concerns to leaders.
• Support logistics for site safety initiatives.
