Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Project Engineer – Construction & Renovation for on-site work in Louisville, KY. You will lead capital construction and renovation projects, manage full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, and align with safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

You will coordinate with Design-Build firms, manage budgets, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring cross-functional collaboration with operations and sourcing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, manufacturing engineering, or capital project execution.
• Experience managing multi-trade construction or MEP projects in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience with capital equipment or construction project lifecycle including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and construction disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, and deliver projects successfully.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of capital construction and renovation projects including facility upgrades, equipment installations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Manage full project lifecycle including scope development, design coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handoff to operations.
• Coordinate specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, and qualification of construction systems and equipment.
• Ensure integration of construction projects with manufacturing processes, including material flow, workstation design, and value stream alignment.
• Partner with Design-Build firms, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical compliance and constructability.
• Support development of project budgets, capital plans, and cost tracking throughout execution.
• Drive make vs. buy decisions where applicable for construction components and systems.
