Metcut Research is a full‑service materials testing firm with a long track record of innovation since 1948. The Engineer II – Project (EII-P) leads day‑to‑day test program planning, execution, communications, and budget oversight, working closely with technicians and engineers to deliver high‑quality results.

The role emphasizes scheduling, CAD fixture design, data collection, and client-facing updates, with opportunities to grow expertise in a major service area and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CAD software.
• Ability to lead discussions which require specialized knowledge.
• Meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
• Maximum weightlifting requirement is 50lbs.
• Standing to sitting ratio is 30/70, respectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute test programs with scheduling, scope, and budget oversight.
• Develop CAD drawings for custom test fixturing and equipment.
• Produce internal work instructions for technicians and machinists.
• Lead groups to define and develop technical solutions for testing problems.
• Evaluate processes for engineering correctness and risk mitigation.
• Manage project contracts, budgets, invoicing, and status updates.
