Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager I to join our Williamsburg field services team. You will manage and execute testing projects from proposal through completion, coordinating field staff, budgets, and client communications while upholding ECS Core Values.

This role emphasizes developing independent project management capabilities, mentoring junior staff, and delivering timely documentation.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Bachelor of Science in civil/engineering/geology related field.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Good knowledge of construction materials testing principles and applications.
• Working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards.
• Ability to interpret field and laboratory testing results.
• Ability to manage priorities, schedules, and deadlines.
• Developing client relationship and business development skills.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials testing software.
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities (developing).
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction materials testing projects from proposal through completion for low-complexity work.
• Review daily field reports and resolve technical and administrative issues.
• Manage project budgets, invoices, pay applications, and collections.
• Prepare proposals and change orders.
• Support and perform testing of soils, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, and asphalt.
• Coordinate field staff and provide training and oversight on assigned projects.
• Communicate with clients regarding project status, deliverables, and follow-up actions.
• Host or participate in project meetings and discussions with clients.
• Mentor junior staff and technicians and support team development.
• Ensure accurate and timely project documentation and reporting.
