Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer II to join our Industrial team. Initial assignment is in Beaumont, TX. You will assist with preconstruction, planning, buyout, management and closeout while monitoring schedule and budget and reporting to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities include handling RFIs, submittals, logs, change orders, and coordinating with the project team using design tools; travel to various assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Industry related degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of construction project management experience preferred.
• LEAN principles experience desirable.
• OSHA 30 preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Industrial construction experience preferred.

• Organize, review, update, maintain, and post construction documents/drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals and project documents for accuracy against plans and specs.
• Assist in inspections, compliance audits, and non-conformance log.
• Manage material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain and distribute accurate project logs.
• Draft scopes of work for subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Track subcontractor changes; solicit pricing and draft change orders within authority.
• Utilize virtual design tools for project coordination.
• Obtain and manage closeout information, punch lists, as-builts, warranty support.
• Travel/relocate to assignments as needed.

We are currently accepting applications for a Project Engineer II to join our Industrial team. (Must be willing to travel based on the needs of the project). Initial assignment is in Beaumont, TX.

The Project Engineer I/II is responsible for several functions throughout the duration of assigned projects including preconstruction, planning, buyout, management and closeout. This role actively monitors project status and informs the project team of any issues that may impact the project schedule and/or budget. The Project Engineer I/II typically reports to the Project Manager and may supervise other site personnel. What You’ll Do:

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience:
  • Industry related degree required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of construction project management experience is preferred
  • LEAN principles experience is desirable
  • OSHA 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Industrial construction is preferred
