Job Responsibilities
- This role provides many opportunities to develop drainage solutions, hire and mentor entry-level staff, and build client relationships in the growing and vibrant Tampa and Orlando regions.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of conveyance systems, analysis, and design of cross drains, design of stormwater management facilities, floodplain compensation analysis.
- Design and inspection of best management practices for erosion and sediment control.
- Prepare technical documents including hydrology/drainage reports, pond siting reports, bridge hydraulics reports, and permitting documents.
- Prepare construction plans consistent with FDOT standards.
- Serve as Drainage Engineer of Record on projects.
- Field reviews, site visits, and project research.
- Preparing and assisting with the preparation of LOI's, ELOI's, and Proposals.
- Experienced in the permitting process through the South Florida Water management district and/or the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
- Communicate with plan review agencies/departments to address review comments in a timely manner.
- Maintain project files, according to company document retention guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Engineering concepts, theories, and practices for Hydrology and hydraulic modeling.
- Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, theories, and practices for site and/or roadway design.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD & Civil 3D Experience and/or OpenRoads and similar FDOT design software programs.
- Experience in the Preparation of engineering reports.
- Proficiency with StormWise (previously ICPR4) hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
Required Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required from an accredited university.
- 10+ years of experience in land development design, FDOT drainage Design and/or permitting.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university is a plus.
LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Registered PE (professional engineer) in the state of the home branch or office is a plus.
