Job summary

gpac is seeking a Project Engineer II for a leading General Contractor in Montana. You will work with senior staff to guide safety, direction, and financial outcomes from budgeting through closeout, promoting safe practices across the team.

You will grow collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting project management and field supervision while pursuing advancement to leadership within 3–5 years.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial Construction required.
  • Co-Op / Internship experience in construction field preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties with guidance from a Project Manager.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.
  • Estimate, value engineer and develop project budgets.
  • Facilitate subcontractor bid process, distribute and track documentation.
  • Utilize software programs and templates to process and track project docs.
  • Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout; develop subcontracts.
  • Plan and schedule projects.
  • Manage jobs including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation and ensuring quality and safety.
  • Manage project costs through evaluation of labor, materials and equipment; forecast and analyze costs.

A local, well-known General Contractor is looking to add a Project Engineer II (Senior Project Engineer) onto their team! Position Summary Of Project Engineer II

Senior Project Engineers work with experienced Project Management and Field Supervision staff and assist with the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects from initial budget through project closeout. Safety is the number one priority and Project Engineer II's are expected to promote and exemplify safe work practices. Project Engineer II's are expected to work with team members at all levels of Project Management and Field Supervision to establish operational priorities and ensure a quality project. They are also expected to grow and maintain positive and effective working relationships with both internal and external members of the Project Team and support departments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the following duties with support and direction from a Project Manager
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs
  • Estimate, value engineer and develop project budgets
  • Facilitate the subcontractor bid process to include processing, distribution and tracking of all project bidding documentation
  • Utilize software programs and templates to process, distribute and track all project documentation
  • Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout; develop and negotiate subcontracts.
  • Plan and schedule projects
  • Manage jobs in progress including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation and ensuring quality and safety on every job
  • Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures and profits through project completion
  • Perform project closeout
Position Qualifications
  • B.S. in Construction, Engineering, or other related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial Construction required
  • Prior Co-Op / Internship experience in construction field preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail oriented
