Position Overview
Project Engineer I (Project Execution Engineer) to join our project management team supporting major capital energy infrastructure projects in Spring, TX. Working as part of the core Project Management Team (PMT), you will assist the Execution Lead and Portfolio Manager in developing foundational execution strategies, coordinating project deliverables, and managing multi-disciplinary interfaces through Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and execution phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution Deliverables: Support the Execution Lead in developing critical deliverables, including Early Project Plans, Stage-Gate reviews, issues identification registers, and project close-out/lessons-learned documentation.
- Tender & Procurement Support: Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluations, contractor evaluations/selections, and long-lead equipment sourcing alongside FEED contractors.
- Cross-Functional Interface: Serve as a primary interface between project disciplines, functional departments, and engineering contractors to maintain alignment with technical specifications, project objectives, and corporate standards.
- Stage-Gate & Governance Alignment: Coordinate deliverables for major capital stage-gate systems, development of Functional Interaction Plans, and smooth transitions between project phases.
- Change Management & Issue Resolution: Track, review, and coordinate project change authorizations and manage issue resolution processes across all active scopes.
- Meeting Facilitation & Action Tracking: Facilitate and document key internal and external technical alignment workshops, maintaining formal minutes of meeting (MOM) and actionable interface registers to project closure.
- Technical Compliance: Perform engineering design evaluations, verify industry standard adherence, review production/malfunction reports, and provide technical support to back up project leadership as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or related).
- Experience: 1–3+ years of engineering, construction, or project controls exposure within energy, petrochemical, or industrial capital projects.
- Technical Breadth: Foundational knowledge of capital project execution systems, FEED workflows, stage-gate governance, and industry engineering standards.
- Project Coordination: Demonstrated capability in tracking action items, facilitating technical alignment meetings, and interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; comfortable presenting to and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
