Job summary

MissionHires is seeking a Project Engineer to support project delivery from planning through closeout in Dallas, TX. You will coordinate with management and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget, interpret plans, and assemble submittal packages for HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.

You will estimate design changes, procure materials, and assist in subcontractor selection. Strong communication and MS Office/CADD skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CADD and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders; provide regular updates on timeline, budget, and risks.
  • Manage and track change orders; ensure accuracy, documentation, and timely processing.
  • Estimate schedule and cost impacts resulting from project changes.
  • Interpret plans and specifications; provide technical guidance to internal teams and subcontractors.
  • Assemble and submit complete submittal packages and required project documentation.
  • Procure equipment, materials, and services in alignment with project requirements.
  • Participate in selection and hiring of subcontractors; coordinate vendor activities.
  • Expedite materials to maintain schedule and mitigate delays.
  • Analyze and resolve complex project questions and technical problems as needed.
  • Maintain organized project records, logs, and communications.

Job description

MissionHires is seeking a Project Engineer to support project delivery from planning through closeout. In this role, you will collaborate with management and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget, manage change orders, interpret plans/specifications, assemble submittal packages, procure materials/equipment, and help select subcontractors. You will estimate the impact of design and scope changes, expedite materials, and resolve complex technical questions—particularly related to HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training, and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant project engineering experience
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable systems design (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and general understanding of system operations
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel)
