MDS Staffing is seeking a Project Engineer for our heavy civil contractor partner in the Tampa Bay area. The role targets candidates with 5–8 years in civil construction who can manage multiple activities and own engineering and project controls on FDOT-type work.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Construction Engineering and Management emphasis and be proficient in Primavera P6, Excel, and Word. Tampa locals or relocations are welcome as the team grows in Florida.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 5–8 years of experience in civil construction.
• Experience managing multiple activities on heavy civil work.
• FDOT project experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Review contract and specifications in their entirety and align with project goals.
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day-to-day needs.
• Prepare and update project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, costs and forecasting to support budgeting.
• Obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing.
• Manage document control for submittals, contracts, and record drawings.
• Review daily HeavyJob reports for accuracy.
• Maintain NPDES permits, SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner.

A heavy civil highway and bridge contractor with work across Florida is hiring a Project Engineer out of its Tampa office. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer or experienced Field Engineer with 5 to 8 years in civil construction who has managed multiple activities at once and wants a real path with a stable, well backed employer. You'll own the engineering and project controls side of heavy civil highway work, much of it FDOT work. Tampa Bay locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety


• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs

What We're Looking For
