Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer/manager type role in Phoenix, AZ, to lead planning, procurement, and execution on heavy civil/highway projects.

You will oversee scheduling, cost control, document control, and subcontract management while mentoring engineering staff and coordinating close-out activities. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Environmental Engineering or Construction Management or comparable is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Environmental Engineering or Construction Management or comparable.
• CMAR work experience preferred.
• Experience with wet utilities and project document controls.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: material procurement and expediting, assist in work planning for self-perform and work activities, oversee and mentor engineering staff, coordinate documentation for project close-out.
• Schedule: assist in preparation and maintenance of project schedule and costing system.
• Project Cost Control: inventory control, monitoring equipment and resources, labor productivity for self-perform work.
• Document Controls & Procedures: coordinate and review drawings, submissions, specs, changes, and document control; change management including setup, issuing docs, pricing and admin.
• Subcontract Management: subcontract administration, defining scope, drafting subcontracts, responding to inquiries, tracking progress and back charges.
• Project Administration: preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates.

Job Details

• Project Planning & Execution: Material procurement and expediting, assistance in work planning for self-perform and work activities, oversight and mentoring of engineering staff, Project close-out: involved in coordinating of documentation - deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments
• Schedule: Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system
• Project Cost Control: Inventory control – monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources, labor productivity monitoring for self-perform work activities
• Project Document Controls & Procedures: Coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control, Change management – responsible for set-up, issuing documentation, pricing and change administration
• Subcontract Management: Subcontract administration – defining scope of work, writing subcontracts, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing back charges
• Project Administration: Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates
