Job summary

Willmeng Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager in meeting cost and schedule targets while delivering high‑quality results. You will help maintain a safe work environment and minimize project risk in a hands-on team setting from startup to closeout.

The role emphasizes subcontractor coordination, billing support, RFI management, and documentation control, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced construction project.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Construction Engineering preferred
• 3-5 years of construction engineering experience
• Mechanical experience with HVAC (HEATING, VENTILATION, AIR CONDITIONING) and related systems
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Procore and MS Office proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Assist with subcontractors and subcontracts: scope review, changes, buyout, and communication
• Manage the billing process with the Project Manager
• Support the superintendent with RFIs, research, and permits
• Coordinate and assemble close-out documents and manuals
• Maintain document control for RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, specs, punch lists, as-builts
• Handle client/subcontractor requests and warranty items as needed
• Participate in budget process and monthly budget meetings
• Coordinate job setup with accounting, pre-qual checks, and budgets in Procore
• Assist in owner checklists and coordination with accounting
• Attend job walks (Pre-construction owner, Pre-bid subcontractor, Project Progress)
