RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our South Carolina team in a regular full-time role. You will work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports for geotechnical projects in transportation and municipal sectors, supervise field investigations, and develop design computations.

You will review geotechnical reports, support proposals, and contribute geotechnical analyses using industry-standard software, while collaborating with a supportive team in a hybrid work

Formación

• BS degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of geotechnical design experience.
• South Carolina Professional Engineer license.
• Knowledge of SCDOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) and AASHTO LRFD.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software and MicroStation.

Responsabilidades

• Aid in development of geotechnical proposals and subsurface exploration programs.
• Supervise subsurface exploration programs.
• Prepare Geotechnical Subsurface Data Reports and Bridge/ Roadway Geotechnical Reports.
• Develop geotechnical analyses and calculations using approved software.
• Review post-bid construction plans and submittals.
• Prepare foundation recommendations for structures.

As a Geotechnical Project Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will supervise field investigations and develop and review design computations; and prepare of geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Essential Functions

• Aid in the development of the geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
• Supervision of subsurface exploration programs,
• Preparation of Geotechnical Subsurface Data Reports, Bridge Geotechnical Engineering Reports, Roadway Geotechnical Engineering Reports, and Seismic Response Analysis Reports,
• Develop geotechnical analyses and calculations using approved software,
• Review of Post-bid construction plans and submittals,
• Prepare foundations recommendations for other structures (as required),
• Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering to enhance project efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience

• BS degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of Geotechnical Design Experience
• South Carolina Professional Engineer License
• Knowledge of SCDOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification
• Understanding of the following: gINT, BoreDM, LPile, APile, MSEW, Settle, Slide, and GRLWEAP
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Working knowledge of Microstation
• Passion for client service and engineering

Preferred Skills and Experience

• MS or advanced degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
• SCDOT experience
