Job Summary

CobbFendley is seeking an experienced Gas Pipeline Project Engineer in our Austin, Texas office.

Qualifications

  • Skills: use of industry‑standard computer software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and hydrologic/hydraulic models.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
Responsibilities
  1. Design and Analysis
    1. Complete entire design and analysis for a simple project, ensure latest manual and criteria are met, sign and seal plans.
    2. Work with project team to coordinate design and analysis tasks.
  2. Compliance and Quality
    1. Adhere to company QA/QC processes and procedures and review work by others. Understand general contract language and risk assessments and mitigation.
  3. Communication and Collaboration
    1. Work with supervisor, project manager, task leads, and various internal personnel to complete assignments within and across disciplines.
    2. Lead meetings and follow up documentation.
  4. Training, Learning and Advancement
    1. Attend internal or external training.
    2. Assist with onboarding and training of various types of staff.
  5. Client and Internal Satisfaction
    1. Work with clients daily, problem‑solve issues and elevate concerns when needed.
    2. Set and adhere to project schedule, attend client meetings, assist with marketing and project interviews, and maintain general understanding of financial management to ensure profitability.
  6. Technical
    1. Support Senior Project Managers with engineering tasks and project management for various gas utility relocation projects, HDD design, system improvement, gate and district regulator station design, regulator relief selection, and sizing.
    2. Apply technical expertise and work with a project team on a variety of applications ranging from feasibility studies to final as‑built maintenance records.
    3. Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems.
    4. Motivated to learn in a dynamic environment with short project deadlines.
Work Hours
  • Full‑time position, generally 40 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on department needs and may include overtime.
  • CobbFendley’s standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST. Employees receive a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break. Hours and lunch may differ based on project workload, primarily for field staff.
Location Flexibility
  • Eligible for a hybrid schedule once the training period is complete as established by the department.
