Job description

Kleinfelder's Environmental team is seeking a Pipeline Engineering Project Manager in Houston to lead natural gas and liquids pipeline projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare pipeline and facility designs, including reviewing designs and documentation to ensure compliance
  • Construction specification and bid package preparation
  • Pipeline design and material selection
  • Alternative/Feasibility studies
  • Develop status reports with task completion, progress, challenges, and solutions
  • Oversee pursuits, designate appropriate resources to projects, define client needs, address concerns, manage engineering resources within budget
  • Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring quality standards and customer value
  • Nurture and grow client relationships and contracts for complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Lead, grow and mentor staff
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered
  • Manage all phases of project execution: organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, reporting
  • Collaborate on design and construction management projects for continuous improvement
  • Build relationships on technical and client service teams and within client organizations
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external teams, clients and stakeholders
Education & Certification
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Required: Professional Engineer (PE) license
Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of related pipeline and energy infrastructure experience
  • Experience in project planning activities and using tools to make tactical adjustments regarding budgeting, scheduling, and scope changes
  • Ability to assess and resolve issues and conflicts internally and externally
  • Production design experience either first‑hand or through reviews of work products
  • Valid driver’s license
