Ryan Companies US, Inc. has a career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Midwest team in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies while assisting on projects from site to office operations.

The Project Engineer will gain experience in RFIs, shop drawings, dimensional checks, vendor coordination, safety practices, and scheduling on active construction sites, with potential progression to project management paths.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management is required.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in generating RFIs and tracking approvals.
• Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
• Learn project dimensional control requirements and verify dimensions on site.
• Coordinate and track vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Gain understanding of overall site logistics.
• Participate in and understand permit inspection processes.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Attend Punchlist inspections with Ryan personnel and Owner, record items and monitor completion.
• Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule.
