Job summary

Seco Tools in Topeka, KS seeks a Project Engineer to lead end-to-end manufacturing projects from concept through implementation. You will analyse processes, define machining and tooling strategies, and use CAD/CAM and simulation tools to optimise solutions while coordinating sales, engineering, and customers.

You will support proposals, validation, reporting, and continuous improvement, acting as a trusted technical partner.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
5–7 years in production or mechanical engineering
Experience leading technical projects from concept to implementation
Experience with CAD/CAM programming, CRM systems, and MS Office tools
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; Lean Six Sigma advantageous

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end manufacturing projects from concept to implementation, delivering quality solutions on time and within scope.
Turn customer needs into practical machining, tooling, and execution strategies.
Use CAD/CAM and simulation tools to optimise processes, proposals, validation, and project documentation.
Shape high-performing tool applications and machining strategies and provide technical direction on tooling and process optimisation.
Coordinate sales, engineering, customer support, and technical specialists to achieve project goals.
Coach colleagues and share expertise to strengthen team capability and delivery.
Build trusted customer relationships and shape solutions that create measurable business value.
Lead customer discussions and develop tailored tooling and machining solutions.
Track performance and continuously improve workflows, standards, and project delivery.
