Job summary

Jacobsen Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our award-winning, employee-owned team in Salt Lake City.

You will assist with scope interpretation, scheduling updates, and rigorous document control while supporting the project manager on cost control and safety. This full-time, on-site role requires a four-year construction management or technical degree and offers ESOP participation, health benefits, and a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Four-year Construction Management or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains understanding of the scope and interdependence of all contract documents.
• Observes and records jobsite activity as required by contract documents.
• Manages document control to ensure work aligns with contract documents.
• Evaluates change order requests including design changes and drawings releases.
• Reviews submittals and ensures compliance with specifications.
• Reviews as-built drawings and maintains records of changes.
• Monitors project schedule and assists the PM in its maintenance.
• Manages RFIs to facilitate timely information exchange.
• Contributes to cost control mechanisms for the project.
• Completes project close-out requirements per contract documents.
