Job summary

Gryphon Oakwood is seeking a Project Engineer – Electrical Construction in Phoenix to help deliver commercial and mission critical electrical projects. You will work with Project Managers and field leadership across preconstruction, procurement, scheduling, documentation and project controls.

The role emphasizes reading drawings, coordinating with vendors and clients, and ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in electrical construction, project engineering, or coordination.
  • Able to read drawings, specs, and contracts for execution.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and field ops.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and electrical construction.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, procurement, material tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost tracking, and controls.
  • Review drawings and contracts to support execution.
  • Coordinate with field leaders, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Support planning, manpower, and material procurement for delivery.
  • Monitor progress, labor productivity, and financial performance.
  • Ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance per quality standards.
  • Build relationships with clients, field teams, and stakeholders.

Project Engineer – Electrical Construction – Phoenix Arizona

Gryphon Oakwood is partnering with a leading electrical contractor to identify a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial and mission critical electrical construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers and field leadership, this role will assist in all phases of project execution, including preconstruction, procurement, scheduling, documentation, and project controls. Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers with the successful execution of electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, procurement, material tracking, project documentation, and reporting
  • Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost tracking, and project controls
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents to support project execution
  • Coordinate with field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to maintain project schedules and resolve field issues
  • Support project planning, manpower coordination, and material procurement to ensure successful project delivery
  • Monitor project progress, labor productivity, and financial performance while identifying potential risks and opportunities
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience within electrical construction, project engineering, or project coordination
  • Strong understanding of commercial, industrial, or mission critical electrical construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and field operations
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and electrical construction safety standards
  • Experience with Procore, ESub, Microsoft Office, or similar construction management software preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
