Job summary

CPH, a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architectural design firm in Linthicum Heights, MD, has an opening in its Civil/Municipal department for a Civil/Environmental Engineer. The role involves working under a Professional Engineer to design and prepare technical reports, calculations, and construction documents, plus permit applications and coordination with clients and agencies.

A BS in civil/environmental engineering and 1–5 years of MD experience are required; CAD experience is desirable,

• 1-5 years of experience in design and permitting of civil/land development projects in Maryland.
• E.I. Certification or ability to obtain upon starting.

Responsibilities

• Work under a Professional Engineer as part of a design team.

Description

CPH has an opening in its Linthicum Heights, Maryland office for the following position:

Hiring Bonus of up to $1,000 for selected candidate!

Duties Include

• Working under a Professional Engineer as a member of a team in the design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations and construction documents.


• Preparation of accurate presentation, design, details and construction documents.


• Preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.


• Coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.


• Periodic travel to perform site investigations, and construction observation.


• Preparation of specifications, shop drawing review, field observations, preparation of inspection reports and other construction administration tasks.


• Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.


• Research, interpretation and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements.


• Implementation and utilization of CPH and client standards and templates.


• Review of documents prepared by others and implementation of project quality control.


• Development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.


• Management of clients and national account programs.

Requirements

• Ideal candidate will have a B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with 1-5 years of experience in design and permitting of civil/land development projects in Maryland with the ability to model stormwater, design and manage small to large scale land development projects, research and review code requirements, and maintain project schedule & budget.


• CAD experience is desirable.


• E.I Certificate or ability to obtain upon starting is required.


• Willing to work as a team and have strong organization and communication skills.


• Will require intermittent travel to assist with site investigation, construction observation and project transmittals.


• Maryland utility design experience a plus.
