Professional Engineer – Land Development

  • Location: Linthicum Heights, MD
  • Compensation: $79,000 – $109,000 / year

CPH is seeking a full‑time licensed Professional Engineer to manage all facets of land development projects, from business development and client management to project management, design, construction documents, and construction administration.

Duties Include
  • Engineer of Record for design, permitting, and construction administration of projects.
  • Preparation of accurate presentations, designs, details, and construction documents.
  • Oversight of project design team including engineers, designers, consultants, and clients.
  • Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
  • Research, interpret, and implement relevant codes and client requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and utilize CPH and client standards and templates.
  • Prepare specifications, review shop drawings, and provide construction administration support as Engineer of Record.
  • Periodic travel for business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation; prepare or review subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Oversee and assist with compiling construction plans from all disciplines and submittals to agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Mentor project engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Review documents prepared by others and implement project quality control.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Maryland. Additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
  • 5+ years of U.S. experience in design and permitting of public or private projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Thorough understanding of the project process from concept through construction.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating and determining design solutions.
  • Experience in stormwater management, water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection system design.
  • Effective instructional, teaching, and mentoring skills in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Superior social, communication, written and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects while adhering to schedules and budgets.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self‑motivated.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
