Job summary

MPI is seeking a Project Engineer to support delivery of commercial construction projects across a diverse portfolio. This early‑career role offers broad project exposure and mentorship from senior leaders in a collaborative culture.

You will work with project teams, superintendents, architects, and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to schedules. A bachelor’s degree, internship in commercial construction, and strong MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Approximately 1–2 years of construction industry experience.
  • Internship experience within commercial construction is required.
  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and construction scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational and multi‑priority management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer‑facing abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project documentation (RFIs, submittals, drawings, and related records).
  • Support preconstruction activities including quantity take‑offs and bid leveling exercises.
  • Review submittals and procurement activities to align with project schedules.
  • Identify and resolve gaps or discrepancies in construction documents with stakeholders.
  • Assist with subcontract preparation, purchase agreements, and project administration.
  • Coordinate subcontractor schedules with field leadership to maintain timelines.
  • Support project safety initiatives, schedule updates, closeout activities, and issue resolution.

Description

As a Project Engineer, you will report into a Project Manager and work closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and construction scheduling software
