Job summary

Connecticut Innovations is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead the execution of our decarbonization technology deployments across the U.S. You will manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful installations at wastewater facilities.

The role requires 4–8 years in relevant engineering/project management, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach. Travel up to 60% and lifting up to 50 pounds are expected as you support rapid deployment of CREW’s

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, or mechanical engineering (or similar).
  • 4–8 years in civil engineering, construction management, mechanical eng., or technical PM.
  • Strong writing, PM, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on and detail oriented approach to delivering projects.
  • Financial acumen including budget building and cost control.
  • Experience sourcing and overseeing subcontractors and ensuring deliverables.
  • Startup mindset with adaptability, creativity, agility and execution.
  • Able to travel 30–60%.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and using power/hand tools.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
  • Extreme ownership and teamwork with high empathy.
  • Growth mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management across multiple sites, maintaining timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure installation and performance of CREW’s technology.
  • Manage vendor/contractor relationships, procurement, and supply chain for hardware components.
  • Prepare scopes of work, RFIs, cost estimates, schedules, presentations, and other project docs.
  • Develop detailed work plans, engineering specs, and execution planning.
  • Conduct fieldwork including construction inspection, piping, training, commissioning, and startup.
  • Provide follow-up support with on-site operators and coordinate with suppliers.
