CREW Carbon in New Haven is seeking a Head of R&D and Lab Ops to guide CREW’s wastewater process optimization and decarbonization efforts. You will interpret complex data, drive lab operations, and translate findings into scalable deployments.

You will mentor the R&D team, collaborate across Advisory and Technical Solutions, and lead MRV work to quantify carbon removal and process improvements across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience in biological wastewater treatment process engineering.
• Strong understanding of nutrient removal, solids handling, pH and alkalinity control.
• Experience leading a technical team and strong writing skills.
• Familiarity with process modeling tools and analytical methods.

Responsabilités

• Serve as CREW’s senior technical authority on BNR, aqueous chemistry, and process performance.
• Analyze data and drive decisions using mass/energy balances and process modeling.
• Lead and mentor lab/R&D, setting protocols and data collection standards.
• Translate lab findings into scalable CREW deployments.
• Collaborate with Platform and Technical Solutions to turn data into product decisions.
• Support carbon removal quantification methodology and MRV for deployments.
• Provide root-cause analysis for field issues and feed fixes back to R&D.
• Author technical reports and internal R&D documentation.
