Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Cost Controller to oversee project cost control activities, forecast revenue and costs, prepare monthly pay estimates, and support management with accurate financial data on North American projects.

Responsibilities include processing change orders, coordinating submittals, managing material deliveries, and negotiating contracts while working closely with field teams to ensure cost discipline and timely information.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Thorough attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to access construction sites in varied climates and environments.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in operations of the cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals.
• Accumulate data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Process and estimate change orders and RFIs as directed by Project Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain current records of submittals and transmittals.
• Process/manage material deliveries and ensure quality and quantity compliance.
• Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
• Assist in developing and updating the project schedule.
• Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen, Crews).
