Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a cost controller to join its project controls team. You will work on the cost control system, analyze construction costs, and participate in monthly revenue and cost forecasting for ongoing projects across North America.

The role requires a degree in engineering or business administration, willingness to travel/relocate domestically and internationally, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Business Administration (Accounting/Finance/Management) or Construction Management.
• Will ing to travel and relocate domestically and internationally.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in varied climates.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals.
• Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Process and estimate change orders and Requests for Information as directed by Project Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
• Process/manage material deliveries and ensure inspection for quantity and quality per contract documents.
• Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
• Assist in developing and updating project schedules.
• Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews).
