Job summary

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical support to construction staff, review bidding and design documents, and oversee the construction process to ensure accuracy and quality from start to finish.

The role includes preconstruction support, scheduling, documentation, contracts, submittals, RFIs, safety, and closeout activities, with emphasis on coordination and timely review of drawings and shop drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a construction-related support role preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite and scheduling tools (MS Project or P6).
• Proficient with Bluebeam, Procore or Sage, and presenting tools (PowerPoint/Prezi).
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in preconstruction, startup, documentation, contracts, and closeout.
• Track logs for safety, procurement, submittals, RFIs, QA/QC, and change management.
• Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and facilitate walkthroughs.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and expediting reviews.
• Assist with RFIs and coordination with site supervision and inspections.
• Track drawings/specifications and revisions; assist bid package preparation.
• Assist with procurement, deliveries, and permit/certification processes.
