Job summary

Doggett Concrete Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of commercial concrete projects from start to finish.

You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to assist with project management, estimating, scheduling, cost tracking, and quality control, gaining hands-on experience in commercial construction and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; or an Associate's degree combined with relevant professional experience.
• Previous construction experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in commercial concrete construction or construction project management is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, coordination, and execution of multiple commercial construction projects.
• Review project contracts, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure understanding of project requirements.
• Assist with developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules to support timely completion.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support efficient project operations.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors through clear, consistent communication.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift or similar estimating software; assist in preparing estimates, proposals, and change orders.
• Track material quantities, equipment usage, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements for cost reporting.
• Assist with monitoring project budgets and expenses.
• Prepare, organize, submit, and track project submittals for timely review and approval.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and project changes in coordination with management staff.
• Maintain organized project documentation throughout construction.
• Conduct field observations to verify formwork, layout, and construction activities align with plans.
• Support teams in maintaining safety and quality standards.
