Your Opportunity

Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Clearwater, Florida has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer – Civil / Site Development. We are seeking a candidate with experience in professional practice and design related to community development.

This position involves working on significant projects, interacting with clients and government agencies, and collaborating effectively with a team. Responsibilities include designing and preparing site, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility plans, as well as creating design reports.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage in the development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  2. Utilize technologies to develop three-dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
  3. Prepare and revise documentation across civil phases, including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  4. Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  5. Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  6. Assist senior engineers/designers in developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  7. May lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
  8. Perform and oversee calculations using standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  9. Utilize advanced techniques for analyzing specialized civil elements.
  10. Participate in constructability reviews.
  11. Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  12. Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the civil group.
  13. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications

· Ability to perform all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with a focus on technical and project delivery excellence.

· Sound knowledge of industry practices and a demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.

· Experience with private and public sector clients/projects.

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in Civil3D, Hydrology/Hydraulic design software, MS Office.

· Experience in client management and business development is an asset.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

· 5+ years of civil/site design experience.

· Registered Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.

Position primarily involves office work; some field work may be required.
