Job summary

FlatironDragados in California is seeking a Project Engineer to track costs, monitor resources, and keep projects on budget and on schedule. You will review production plans with engineering and field crews, assess materials and equipment, and help prepare the three-week work plan.

You will identify risks to the budget and timeline, evaluate daily progress, manage RFIs, and coordinate subcontractor work, while ensuring safety with JHAs and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3+ years construction engineering experience.
• Experience in cost accounting, budget tracking and scheduling.
• Knowledge of design-build and alternative build methods.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and cost coding.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment, and resources.
• Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify budget and schedule risks and recommend mitigation options.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track performance.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Initiate and manage RFIs and ensure accurate project quantities with cost coding.
• Manage invoicing with accounting on materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Review certificates and permits needed to perform work and ensure safety via JHAs.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.
