Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities group seeks an entry‑level Project Engineer to join the Core team on large Industrial projects. You will support safety, QA/QC planning, estimating, and on‑site tasks with the project team, handling drawings, documentation, and reporting.

The role emphasizes Lean practices and collaboration with foremen, subcontractors, and craft personnel to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, or related field.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Learns and participates in the company’s safety and quality plans and culture.
• Participates with project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks.
• Learns and participates in estimating and change management processes, including quantity take-off and subcontractor proposals.
• Works on site with the project team to support tasks such as monitoring crew size, hours, materials, quantity and equipment.
• Participates in punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews and documentation.
• Posts drawings and specifications with the most recent information.
• Organizes and participates in project meetings and disseminates required documentation.
• Creates and reviews project reports (daily, weekly, unit reporting, progress, manpower, schedules, equipment).
• Performs periodic job-site observations with project leadership.
• Develops procurement logs and tracks shop drawings and deliveries as directed.
• Provides progress updates to support scheduling.
• Supports project close-out activities (punch lists, manuals, as-builts).
• Learns Lean practices and opportunities for self-perform on the project.
