Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects. You will act as a technical resource for the project team, coordinating project documentation, procurement, subcontractor activities, and change management with accuracy and urgency.

This role emphasizes collaboration with owners, designers, vendors and field personnel, maintaining strong relationships while supporting schedules, cost control, and project closeout documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project engineering, field engineering or construction management experience on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, scheduling, procurement, and cost control processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement, scheduling, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and contract requirements for compliance.
  • Assist with material and equipment procurement and track delivery schedules.
  • Maintain project records including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, quantity tracking, and logs.
  • Maintain as-built drawings and support closeout documentation, warranties, and operations manuals.
  • Assist with cost control, budgeting, and change order management.
  • Coordinate with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in quantity takeoffs and support estimating activities as needed.
  • Identify project risks and help resolve issues to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
  • Support, mentor, and collaborate with field engineering and project staff.
