Job summary

JGM is seeking a Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

In collaboration with the Construction Manager, you will help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and client expectations. The role requires occasional travel to project sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with FF&E coordination, inventory; including procurement tracking, vendor management, delivery logistics, and installation.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of construction activities.
  • Review and distribute construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Track and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule or budget impacts.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and cost tracking reports.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and company standards.
  • Support procurement of materials and equipment and coordinate deliveries.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Assist with quality control inspections and resolution of construction issues.
  • Prepare project reports, closeout documentation, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies.

Job description

The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working closely with the Construction Manager, the Project Engineer helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
  • Combination of office and construction site environments.
  • Frequent walking on active construction sites, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional travel and extended work hours may be required to meet project demands.
