Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. seeks a student or early-career professional to assist the project team on designated projects, focusing on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The role is based at a construction site for six months minimum, with potential extension through the project duration. You will gain experience in RFIs, shop drawings, field verifications, safety policies, and project scheduling while collaborating with the owner and Ryan personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in generating RFIs and tracking approvals.
• Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
• Learn project dimensional control and verify field dimensions.
• Assist in coordinating vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Gain understanding of site logistics.
• Participate in city permit inspection process.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Attend Punchlist inspections and track completion.
• Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

Job Description

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies. The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some Things You Can Expect To Do

• Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
• Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
• Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
• Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
• Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
• Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule

To Be Successful In This Role

• You must have knowledge of estimating techniques.
• Cost control, and material pricing.
• A bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
• You must be able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
• You also must be able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.

Compensation

The annual salary range is $73,800 - $92,300. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities.
