Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking an experienced Engineering and Logistics Project Manager to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) efforts at NAS North Island, CA. You will drive sustainment tasks for F/A-18 programs, align deliverables with leadership, and coordinate across engineering and logistics teams to ensure timely, high-quality results.

The role requires 3–10 years in engineering and logistics project management, a BS/BA in a relevant field, and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Business Administration or a relevant technical discipline is required.
• Security clearance at the Secret level is required.

This role is with one of our partner companies.

Directly support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California. Duties will include:

• Developing project sustainment tasks related to the F/A-18 aircraft by reviewing sponsor project proposals and plans and conferring with management to align on deliverables.
  
• Determining project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements and assigning personnel accordingly.
  
• Analyzing and establishing project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
  
• Designing and conducting technical studies and tests to confirm product performance and sustainment viability.
  
• Creating and managing detailed project schedules by calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.
  
• Monitoring and coordinating ongoing project activities, identifying, and resolving issues to maintain project timelines.
  
• Controlling project plans through continuous review of designs, specifications, and schedule changes while recommending necessary actions to management.
  
• Preparing comprehensive project status reports, analyzing trends, and providing strategic recommendations.
  
• Responsible for planning and execution of engineering development efforts for a cross functional engineering and logistics team.
  
• Responsible for overseeing and managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
  
• Providing a blend of strong engineering expertise and proven project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  
• Serve as a key liaison for the FST lead and various stakeholders, including clients, engineering teams, and other departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  

Developing and maintaining project plans, staffing plans, and related planning documents to support FST tasking

Desired Experience: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Degree in an engineering field is strongly preferred.

Requirements

Has over three (3) to 10 years of experience in Engineering and Logistics program/project management.

BS or BA degree in Business Administration or a "Relevant Technical Discipline".

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, in an office environment.

Current Secret clearance is required.

No per diem. Work location at NAS North Island, CA area. Start date is ASAP.

BaseSalary Range: $55.00-$65.00 per hour

This base pay range is specific to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Washington, and any other state that may require such disclosure. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
