Job summary

D3 Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced project manager to directly support the Naval Air Systems Command at NAS North Island, California. This role involves managing engineering projects related to the F/A-18 aircraft, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and project specifications.

Overview

Position Description: Directly support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California. Work location at NAS North Island, CA area. Start date is ASAP. No per diem.

Responsibilities
  • Develop project sustainment tasks related to the F/A-18 aircraft by reviewing sponsor project proposals and plans and conferring with management to align on deliverables.
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements and assigning personnel accordingly.
  • Analyze and establish project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
  • Design and conduct technical studies and tests to confirm product performance and sustainment viability.
  • Create and manage detailed project schedules by calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.
  • Monitor and coordinate ongoing project activities, identify, and resolve issues to maintain project timelines.
  • Control project plans through continuous review of designs, specifications, and schedule changes while recommending necessary actions to management.
  • Prepare comprehensive project status reports, analyze trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Plan and execute engineering development efforts for a cross‑functional engineering and logistics team.
  • Oversee and manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Serve as a key liaison for the FST lead and various stakeholders, including clients, engineering teams, and other departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, staffing plans, and related planning documents to support FST tasking.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Degree in an engineering field strongly preferred. BS or BA degree in Business Administration or a "Relevant Technical Discipline" accepted.
  • Minimum 3 to 10 years of experience in engineering and logistics program/project management.
  • Current Secret clearance required.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, in an office environment.
  • Work location at NAS North Island, CA area.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $55.00–$65.00 per hour (California, Colorado, Connecticut, NewJersey, NewYork, Nevada, Ohio, RhodeIsland, Washington, and other states as required). Compensation may vary by geography. Other rewards may include bonuses, paid time off, 401k match, tuition reimbursement, and more.
