Job summary

RESPEC is seeking a motivated Project Engineer for our San Antonio or Castroville, Texas team. This mid-level role focuses on water/wastewater design, project engineering, and strong client relations to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your responsibilities include leading projects from concept to completion, mentoring staff, and coordinating with regulators and internal teams. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits are provided, and RESPEC is 100% employee-owned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 7 years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and distribution/collection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, and GIS.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design plans, technical reports, and specifications.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a growing team.
• Lead and manage water/wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through completion.
• Develop project deliverables, permitting, bidding and construction administration.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure project success.

RESPEC, seeks a motivated and experiencedProject Engineerto join our Team in San Antonio or Castroville, Texas.

This role is ideal for a mid-level professional with a strong background in water and wastewater design, project engineering, and client relations. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions while collaborating with project teams and fostering client partnerships. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and review design plans, technical reports, and specifications

• Lead and manage water/wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through completion
• Develop project deliverables, permitting, bidding and construction administration
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams to ensure project success

Required:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and distribution/collection systems
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, and GIS
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

• PE License (or ability to obtain in Texas)
• Understanding of treatment processes

Compensation:Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the EPP after a qualifying period.
