Job summary

ONE SHOT AUTOMATION LLC, based in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Project Engineer - Automations to join our growing team. You will design, develop, and implement automated systems for client projects, and manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables through all project phases.

You will program PLCs and HMIs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support site deployments with testing, documentation, and client communication. Domestic travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering is required.
• 2+ years of automation/controls experience.
• PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols.
• Strong project management and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems and solutions for client projects
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from concept through commissioning
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other automation control systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers
• Conduct site assessments, system testing, and troubleshooting during installation and startup
• Prepare technical documentation, project reports, and as-built drawings
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or related field)
• 2+ years of experience in automation, controls engineering, or systems integration
• Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent)
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to travel to client sites locally and regionally as needed
