Job summary

Ickler Electric Corporation in Poway, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent in controlling project scope per contract documents. The role reports to the Project Manager and requires strong organizational skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities include reviewing shop drawings, tracking procurement, maintaining logs, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and producing close-out documentation.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction field experience, preferably electrical construction.
• Proficient with Excel and Word; familiarity with Bluebeam.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Strong organization and attention to detail; able to work independently or in a team.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings for general conformance and procurement tracking.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure project scope control as defined in contract documents.
• Preview shop drawings for conformance (dimensions/materials/etc) prior to Project Manager review.
• Procurement activities tracking with project manager (materials, equipment and minor subcontracts).
• Submittal processing; maintain submittal log and procurement log.
• Create close-out schedule and maintain close-out documents.
• Scheduling updates as directed by project manager.
• Job related errands.
• Communicate effectively with management, co-workers and vendors on a regular basis.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for submittals.
• Maintain the RFI process including writing RFIs; may be based in main office or at jobsite.

Job description

Requirements & Responsibilities (As Assigned By Project Manager)

• Highly organized, exacting, and detail oriented.
• Ability to be self-sufficient in order to work productively alone or in a group setting.
• 5-10 years of construction field experience is preferred, particularly in electrical construction
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Bluebeam software.
• Preview shop drawings for general conformance (dimensions/Materials/etc) prior to Project Manager review
• Procurement activities tracking with project manager (materials, equipment and minor subcontracts).
