Job summary

Cadence McShane Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer to help deliver high-quality multi-family, industrial, and commercial projects from our Plano office and your assigned jobsite. You’ll gain hands-on experience in project controls, project financials, and leading project meetings while contributing to safety, QA/QC, and scheduling.

This in-person role requires a relevant degree and active US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field.
• Construction internship experience preferred.
• Full-time, in-person role split between the local office and assigned jobsite.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of managing all project-related documents, from RFI’s and submittals to material procurement and meeting minutes.
• Oversee the review and approval process of all project control documents.
• Create and maintain project controls logs.
• Assist with project schedules and updates.
• Learn QA standards and assist in QA/QC logs to maintain quality.
• Participate in weekly jobsite safety orientation meetings and audits.

Education

Responsibilities

Project Controls

• Take ownership of managing all project-related documents, from RFI’s and submittals to material procurement and meeting minutes.
• Ensure seamless project execution by overseeing the review and approval process of all project control documents.
• Create and maintain project controls logs.

Schedule Management

• Play an essential role in keeping our projects on track by assisting with project schedules and updates.

Quality Management

• Advocate for project excellence by learning and understanding QA standards outlined in the company’s Quality Assurance Program.
• Assist in managing inspection tracking logs and QA/QC compliance logs to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the project.

Safety

• Champion a culture of safety by getting to know our Safety Program inside and out.
• Contribute to the preparation of specific project safety plans and actively participate in weekly jobsite safety orientation meetings.
• Become proficient in performing weekly job site safety audits.
