Job summary

Cadence McShane Construction Company is seeking a Field Engineer to support on-site supervision and project execution in Plano, TX. You will assist the Project Superintendent with daily site operations, safety compliance, coordination of subcontractors, and management of timelines and budgets.

You will be proficient in reading drawings, site plans, and basic construction management software, while maintaining strong communication with clients, architects, and inspectors.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years’ experience in Construction Management
  • Fully proficient with construction management software including Salus, PlanGrid and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction site operations under the Superintendent
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to meet specifications and schedules
  • Enforce safety protocols and company policies on site
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and cleanliness
  • Support progress reporting and site meetings
  • Assist with project schedules and logistics
  • Foster relationships with clients, architects, engineers and inspectors
  • Read drawings and site plans to support field execution

Cadence McShane Construction Company is looking for a Field Engineer!

As a Field Engineer, you provide essential support to the execution of building projects. The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Superintendent with on-site supervision, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating subcontractors, and supporting project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily construction site operations and activities.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
  • Enforce safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure work environment for all personnel. Perform regular safety audits as outlined by Cadence McShane Construction
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality, cleanliness, and adherence to plans and standards.
  • Support the Project Superintendent in holding site meetings, maintaining logs, and documenting site progress.
  • Facilitate timely delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Identify and report potential issues, risks, or discrepancies to the Project Superintendent promptly.
  • Develop quality control correction list in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Assist with the implementation of project schedules and adjust as directed to address project needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors on site.
  • Poses a solid understanding of construction methods, safety regulations (OSHA), and building codes.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, site plans, and technical drawings.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in construction management software.
  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to complete the project on time. Work hours are not the typical 8-5. Work hours may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years’ experience in Construction Management
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, design consultants and trade partners.
  • Fully proficient with construction management software including Salus, PlanGrid and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full-time, in-office position.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
