Job summary

Cadence McShane Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer to deliver high-quality multi-family, industrial, and commercial projects while growing in project controls, financials, and leadership of project meetings.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management, an internship in construction preferred, full-time in-person work split between local office and jobsite, and valid U.S. driver's license with permanent US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management is required.
  • Construction internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of project controls documents (RFI, submittals, procurement, meeting minutes).
  • Oversee review/approval of project control documents to ensure seamless execution.
  • Create and maintain project controls logs.
  • Assist with project schedules and updates to keep projects on track.
  • Support QA/QC processes and maintain inspection tracking and QA/QC logs.
  • Participate in weekly jobsite safety orientation meetings and safety audits.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management
Construction internship experience preferred

You’ll become proficient in project controls, build knowledge of project financials, and develop skills necessary to lead project meetings.

Responsibilities
Project Controls
  • Take ownership of managing all project-related documents, from RFI’s and submittals to material procurement and meeting minutes.
  • Ensure seamless project execution by overseeing the review and approval process of all project control documents.
  • Create and maintain project controls logs.
Schedule Management
  • Play an essential role in keeping our projects on track by assisting with project schedules and updates.
Quality Management
  • Advocate for project excellence by learning and understanding QA standards outlined in the company’s Quality Assurance Program.
  • Assist in managing inspection tracking logs and QA/QC compliance logs to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the project.
Safety
  • Champion a culture of safety by getting to know our Safety Program inside and out.
  • Contribute to the preparation of specific project safety plans and actively participate in weekly jobsite safety orientation meetings.
  • Become proficient in performing weekly job site safety audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or a related field.
  • Construction internship experience preferred.
  • Full-time, in-person role split between the local office and assigned jobsite.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States
