Job summary

RK Industries, LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Operations team. You will support project controls, procurement, field coordination, scheduling, and mechanical systems execution on complex projects.

The role offers hands-on responsibilities across HVAC, plumbing, and process piping, with exposure to healthcare, data center, and other mission-critical buildouts. Growth toward project management leadership is highlighted.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of mechanical project engineering experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant PM, MEP Coordinator, or similar construction role.
• Experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, process piping, controls, fire protection, or commissioning.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and project controls.
• Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, semiconductor, mission-critical, or complex commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-builts, and project documentation.
• Coordinate procurement activities including equipment tracking, vendor communication, and long-lead material management.
• Support project schedules through look-ahead planning, milestone tracking, and coordination of project activities.
• Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to support successful project execution.
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, buyout activities, and subcontract administration.
• Participate in site walks, QA/QC inspections, commissioning support, turnover, and project closeout activities.
• Help coordinate the installation and execution of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, process piping, and utility systems.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

Project Engineers are key contributors to successful project delivery, helping coordinate the people, materials, systems, and planning that keep sophisticated construction projects moving forward.

At RK Industries, you’ll support industrial, mission-critical, semiconductor, healthcare, and data center projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients, you’ll play a hands‑on role in project controls, procurement, field coordination, scheduling, and mechanical systems execution.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• 1+ Years of Mechanical Project Engineering Experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, MEP Coordinator, Mechanical Coordinator, or similar construction-focused role.
• Experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, process piping, controls, fire protection, or commissioning activities.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and project controls.
• Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, semiconductor, mission‑critical, or complex commercial construction projects.
• Ability to coordinate field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management platforms.
