TYG partners with a leading national electrical contractor to identify experienced Project Engineers to join their growing team in LA/California. The role will support Project Managers in planning, coordination and delivery of electrical construction projects, acting as a key link between the office and field operations.

You will gain hands-on experience across project scheduling, procurement, cost control, subcontractor coordination and client communication, with a focus on ensuring projects

Qualifikationen

• 1–2 years of Project Engineer experience in electrical construction.
• Experience working with an electrical contractor is required.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct support to Project Managers throughout planning, coordination and execution of electrical construction projects.
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement activities and contractual requirements to meet milestones.
• Assist with project documentation, including bids, quantity take-offs, RFIs, submittals, change orders and contracts.
• Monitor project progress and communicate risks or challenges to the team.
• Support financial forecasting, monthly invoicing and cost tracking to maintain budgets and profitability.
• Support quality control procedures and ensure work aligns with standards.

About the Role: Project Engineer – Electrical Construction

The Project Engineer will support Project Managers in the planning, coordination and delivery of electrical construction projects, acting as a key link between the office and field operations.

This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across project scheduling, procurement, cost control, subcontractor coordination and client communication, while helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

The team works from the Commerce office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the remaining working days spent on project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to Project Managers throughout the planning, coordination and execution of electrical construction projects.
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement activities and contractual requirements to ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Assist with project documentation, including bids, quantity take-offs, RFIs, submittals, change orders and contracts.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays and communicate risks or challenges to the wider project team.
• Support financial forecasting, monthly invoicing and cost tracking to help maintain project budgets and profitability.
• Support quality control procedures and ensure work aligns with project specifications and required standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial, residential, hospital or student housing construction is strongly preferred.
• At least 1–2 years of Project Engineer experience within the electrical construction industry.
• Previous experience with an electrical contractor is required.
• Understanding of electrical power systems and electrical construction processes.
• Familiarity with project scheduling, bidding, quantity take-offs, change orders and contracts.
• Experience coordinating with field teams and construction management personnel.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is strongly preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician licence is advantageous but not essential.
