TYG is seeking an Assistant Project Manager – Electrical Construction to support senior PMs on electrical projects in LA/California. The role acts as a bridge between the office and field, coordinating schedules, budgets, procurement and site operations on a hybrid/on-site basis.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in electrical construction, strong understanding of power systems, and the ability to manage budgets, bids, and contracts while coordinating with field teams.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Project Engineer experience within electrical construction.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction and power systems.
• Experience coordinating with construction management teams.
• Knowledge of scheduling, bidding, quantity take-offs and contracts.
• Experience supporting project budgets, forecasting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Provide close support to senior Project Managers in planning, coordination and delivery of electrical construction projects.
• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, procurement activities and contractual requirements to ensure milestones are achieved.
• Act as liaison between field operations and office-based teams, maintaining clear communication throughout execution.
• Monitor project costs and financial performance, supporting forecasting, invoicing and profitability targets.
• Assist with bids, take-offs, change orders, contracts and other key project documentation.
• Support quality control processes to ensure work meets specifications and standards.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and communicate challenges, schedule changes and resource requirements.

About the Role

Assistant Project Manager – Electrical Construction

The Assistant Project Manager will support senior project management teams in the delivery of electrical construction projects, acting as a key link between the office and the field.

This role involves coordinating project schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors and site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. The successful candidate will have an electrical construction background, strong project coordination skills and the ability to support both the commercial and operational aspects of project delivery.

The team works from the Commerce office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the remaining working days spent on project sites.

Qualifications

• Commercial, Residential, Hospital, Student Housing experience strongly preferred
• At least 2–3 years of Project Engineer experience within the electrical construction industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction and electric power systems.
• Previous field experience coordinating with construction management teams.
• Knowledge of project scheduling, bidding, quantity take-offs, change orders and contracts.
• Experience supporting project budgets, financial forecasting and cost control.
• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is strongly preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician licence is advantageous but not essential.
