Job summary

Green Key Resources has partnered with a well-established General Contractor and Construction Manager in the Greater Philadelphia market on their search for a Project Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional looking to build a long-term career in commercial project management.

The Project Engineer will work directly alongside experienced Project Managers and field teams, gaining hands-on exposure to the full construction process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Entry-level candidates and recent graduates with relevant construction education or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
• Previous commercial construction internship, co-op, Project Engineer, or field experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and the commercial construction process preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with project management and scheduling technology.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both office and field teams.
• Motivated to develop into an Assistant Project Manager and eventually a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and execution.
• Support projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and correspondence.
• Assist with project schedules and track key project deadlines.
• Help coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules.
• Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.
• Assist with subcontractor coordination and communication.
• Support project cost tracking and cost control.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting documentation and follow-up.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, and final project turnover.
• Support project safety and quality initiatives.
• Take on increasing project management responsibilities as experience grows.
