Job summary

HW3 in Houston is seeking a Project Engineer / Electrical Lead to drive electrical power systems design, procurement, construction and commissioning for modular power-distribution projects. The role requires hands-on MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs and UPS/DC expertise on industrial sites.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with vendors and contractors, review drawings, and manage scope, schedule and budget while ensuring safe, compliant field execution on 100% onsite projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in electrical project engineering or industrial leadership.
• Hands-on experience with MV/LV switchgear and MCCs.
• Experience with transformers, VFDs, UPS/DC and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities from scope through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Support projects involving MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS/DC systems and distribution.
• Review electrical drawings, one-lines, layouts, cable schedules, grounding and other engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support equipment selection, specifications, RFQs, vendor evaluations and estimates.
• Provide engineering support during construction, FAT/SAT, commissioning and field troubleshooting.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, technical issues and stakeholder communication.

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Electrical Lead with a strong background in industrial electrical power systems and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities from scope development through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Support projects involving MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS/DC systems and electrical distribution.
• Review electrical drawings, one-lines, equipment layouts, cable schedules, grounding and other engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support equipment selection, technical specifications, RFQs, vendor evaluations and project estimates.
• Provide engineering support during construction, FAT/SAT, commissioning and field troubleshooting.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, technical issues and stakeholder communication.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of electrical project engineering, electrical lead or related industrial experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with MV/LV switchgear and MCCs.
• Experience with transformers, VFDs, UPS/DC systems and electrical distribution.

E-House, RIE, PDC, electrical building or similar packaged/modular power-distribution experience is highly valued but not mandatory.
