Job description

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Project Engineer will manage, design, and implement engineering solutions to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure product quality. The Project Engineer will also implement solutions to enhance the overall manufacturing process, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

This role will primarily be based out of our Monroe Township, NJ with travel to our Neptune City, NJ facility on an as-needed basis.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  1. Develop and optimize the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, including workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, to ensure efficient production and quality output
  2. Evaluate ongoing projects and manage new initiatives, continuously identifying improvement areas
  3. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  4. Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement of manufacturing systems and equipment
  5. Utilize decision-making and analytical skills to calculate production, labor, and material costs while conferring with equipment vendors, studying product requirements, and researching testing methods
  6. Participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement projects, new product introductions, or facility expansions, including coordinating timelines, resources, and budgets to achieve objectives
  7. Improve manufacturing efficiency by leading troubleshooting efforts and assisting in diagnosing and resolving issues with production equipment or processes
  8. Ensure processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations
  9. Other duties as assigned

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
  1. BS Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering
  2. 4+ years of experience in food manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred
  3. Experience using CAD, data analysis programs, and related software
  4. Strong organization, interpersonal, decision-making, project execution, and analytical skills
  5. Proactive individual who can work successfully both individually and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  6. High level of technical expertise and strong analytical thinking
  7. Proficiency in MS Software applications
